Merit:

1. Low flow resistance. The medium channel inside the valve body is straight, the medium flows in a straight line, and the flow resistance is small;

2. The movement direction of the ram is perpendicular to the flow direction of the medium, the pressure is small, and the opening and closing are more labor-saving;

3. It is not easy to produce water hammer;

4. The gate valve channel is symmetrical on both sides, and the medium can flow in any direction on both sides, which is easy to install;

5. The structure length is short, the manufacturing process is good, and the application range is wide.

Shortcoming:

1. The cover is easy to wear, which affects the service life of the valve;

2. The gate needs to be completely opened and closed, and the opening and closing stroke of the gate is large and the opening and closing time is long.
